DINO TRI 2009 REGISTRATION
DinoTri 2009 Registration opens on Thanksgiving Day November 27, 2008.
We hope you are getting excited.
Race Headquarters will be at Uintah High School, 1880 W 500 N, Vernal, UT (T2), where race check in/registration will be from 5pm to 9pm on Friday the 26th.
You must have picture ID and your USAT card for USAT members in order to check in.
Bike Check in will be at Red Fleet Reservoir (T1) from 6pm to 10pm that same evening. You must check in at the high school prior to checking in your bike. Altitude Cycle of Vernal will be doing security checks at the bike check in. There will be overnight security at T1 as well.
There will be no day of race registration.
Water temperature is 66 degrees as of Monday.
Wetsuits are not required, but highly recommended.
Dinoland Triathlon - Saturday, June 27, 2009
The first wave starts at 7:00 A.M.
(All vehicles must be out of the area by 6:30 A.M.)
Bikes will be dropped off the night before the race.
We will have a shuttle system from Uintah High School to the Red Fleet Reservior.
There is a large BLM field just outside Red Fleet State Park where you can park and ride your bike in.
It is about 2 miles with a hill.
DINO TRI START TIMES/SWIM START (WAVES) are as follows:
7:00am Pro/Elite Olympic distance athletes
7:15am All Olympic athletes
7:30am All Sprint athletes
DINO TRI medals AND PRIZES
Overall medals and prizes will be given 3 deep in the triathlon for overall male and female in the open divisions. Age-group awards will go to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 24 and under, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. In the Challenged Athletes Division, the 1st place overall male and female will be awarded medals.
Awards Ceremony will begin at 10:30am at the Uintah High School Stadium.
Cash prizes for male and female winners will be as follows:
1st place Overall Pro/Elite: $2000
2nd place Overall Pro/Elite: $1000
3rd place Overall Pro/Elite: $750
1st place Overall Olympic: $1000
2nd Place Overall Olympic: $500
3rd Place Overall Olympic: $250
1st place Overall Sprint: $100
2nd place Overall Sprint: $75
3rd place Overall Sprint: $50
* To remain in compliance with USAT, the prize money has had to change. A USAT sanctioned, age group race, cannot have a prize purse that exceeds $5000 in cash. We will try to make up for the difference with other prizes. We just received this news from USAT this past week.
