DINO TRI POLICIES:

All entries for individual participants are non-transferable.
Upon successfully registering online, you have agreed to our no refund policy. Partial refunds/credit will be processed for medical reasons only. In order to receive a 50% event credit toward next year's race we must receive your cancellation request in writing (email or letter) 30 days prior to race day, along with an official doctor's note supporting the request (scanned and E-mailed or by letter). Those who sustain an injury after this date and would like to submit a request for an exception to our refund policy should email info at dinotri.com up to 14 days prior to the event, along with a verifiable doctor's note, for special consideration on a case by case basis. Refunds will not be processed for disqualification from this event for any reason, including disqualification during the event resulting from USAT competitive rules or disqualification resulting from proven fraudulent information provided to obtain military, club, disabled athlete or any associated race discounts. Those that have no way to verify qualification for race discounts are encouraged not to apply for these discounts. Athletes found using discount codes that they cannot verify (ie proof of membership in club, military CAC, etc) will automatically forefit their race registration and stand the possibility of being barred from any and all future DionLand Triathlon (DinoTri) events. There are no transfers of entry fees allowed at this event. Registration materials must be picked up by participant with a picture I.D. Participants and/or family members may not pick up packets for other athletes. Under USA Triathlon rules, participants found racing under another persons name will be disqualified and could be barred from USA Triathlon membership for one full year; this is a USA Triathlon rule. You will also be barred from racing in future DinoTri events.
By successfully registering for DINO TRI via Active.com (http://www.active.com), you have agreed to both the Active.com and DINO TRI registration agreements.

ACTIVE.COM REFUND POLICY:
Active.com does not refund participants for events except in the case where an athlete has
a) registered more than once for an event and
b) the registration funds have not yet been transferred to the race organizers.
If you were double-charged for an event, and the event is more than 30 days away, contact Active.com directly at support@active.com for a full refund. If the duplicate charge is challenged less than 30 days prior to an event, please contact DINO TRI directly and a refund of the duplicate registration fee will be issued via mail. USA TRIATHLON PROCEDURES/RULES

The Dinoland Triathlon is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event. All USAT rules apply. USAT officials will be present to enforce these rules and assess penalties if warranted. Visit www.usatriathlon.org to read the USAT rule book.
Some of the most common infractions include:

*Glass in the transition area

*Bicycles racked on the wrong rack

*Missing handlebar end plugs (Disqualification - safety)

*Assistance along the course (e.g. help with wet suit removal)

*Missing or unbuckled hard shell helmets

*Drafting, blocking and position foul on the bicycle

*Bicycle helmets are mandatory! No participation without a helmet, period.

*Chin straps must be fastened BEFORE you leave the transition area and MUST NOT be unfastened prior to entering the transition area following the bike leg. Violation of either rule will result in at least a TWO minute time penalty.

*Dismount the bike before entering the transition area. There is NO riding of bicycles inside the transition area. At least a TWO minute time penalty will result.

*There is NO DRAFTING on the bike course. This means that you MUST be at least 2 bike lengths behind the rider in front of you. Riding two abreast (side-by-side) is NOT allowed. There will be bike marshals on the course. Violation of the drafting rule will result in a penalty.

*MP3/IPODs: Use of an MP3 player on the bike will result in a DQ! Use on the run will results in a time penalty!

*** DinoTri is a USA Triathlon sanctioned events. All USAT rules will be enforced by USAT officials! It is your responsibility to know the rules! You can find the rule book at www.usatriathlon.org

A Message from the USAT Head Referee to all Competitors:

*We hope you will take the time to read the following summary of Position Violations, which you probably know as the drafting rules.

*Ride on the right side of your lane. - Keep three bike lengths between your self and the cyclist in front of you.
*Pass on the left of the cyclist in front, never on the right.
*Complete your pass within 15 seconds. If passed, you must drop completely out of the zone, to the rear, before attempting to re-pass.

Remember you are racing in a USA Triathlon sanctioned event and there are trained referees on the course to ensure fairness in the competition.
There will be NO WARNINGS if you commit a foul during competition. Triathlon is an individual event and you must take personal responsibility to understand the rules and avoid penalties. At the end of the race all citations by the marshals are reviewed by the Head Referee who then decides if a penalty should be assessed. The ruling of the Head Referee is final in the case of Position Violations and there are no protests or appeals of Position penalties. Marshals commonly cite the following violations:
*Illegal Position or Blocking: Riding on the left side of the lane without passing.
*Illegal Pass: Passing on the right, or failing to drop back three bike lengths before re-passing.
* Overtaken: Failing to drop back three bike lengths after being passed and before re-passing.
* Drafting: Following a leading cyclist closer than three bike lengths and failing to pass or exit the draft zone within 15 seconds.

Though Position Violations carry a time penalty for each occurence, if you are cited for three violations, you will be disqualified.

Always have your chin strap securely fastened! The chin strap rule is the easiest to follow, but some folks always seem to forget.

Remember to treat other athletes, volunteers, and officials with courtesy and consideration. Failure to do so is called Unsportsmanlike Conduct and you will be disqualified.

No bike riding will be allowed in the transition area. Please dismount when instructed to do so by race volunteers."

Good Racing!! DINO TRI 2010 will take place on Saturday, JUNE 26, 2010.
